Upon arrival in Phuentsholing, Bhutan’s southern gateway, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Begin your journey with a visit to Rinchending Waterfall, a hidden gem surrounded by lush forests and rocky cliffs. The sound of the cascading water creates a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for an afternoon walk. Later, visit Zangto Pelri Lhakhang, a temple representing Guru Rinpoche’s celestial abode.

Depart for Thimphu, driving through tropical forests and winding mountain roads. Along the way, stop at scenic viewpoints to admire waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Arrive in Thimphu in the afternoon and visit Buddha Dordenma, a 51-meter golden statue offering panoramic views of the valley. Stroll through the lively Thimphu Craft Bazaar, where you can find locally made textiles and handicrafts.

Begin the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and a spiritual center. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, where locals gather for daily Buddhist prayers. Visit the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal, the takin, a rare and unique species. In the afternoon, take a nature walk in Jigme Dorji National Park, where you can see diverse flora, rivers, and possibly some wildlife.

Drive to Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass (3,100m) to admire stunning Himalayan views and the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens. Continue towards Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, an architectural masterpiece located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Take a leisurely walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan, offering breathtaking valley views.

The hike takes about 1.5 hours round trip, winding through lush forests and terraced rice fields. In the afternoon, drive to Wangdue Phodrang Valley, an area known for its verdant hills, scenic riverbanks, and charming villages. Explore the valley on foot, taking in the natural beauty and cultural richness.

Return to Paro, stopping en route at Tamchog Lhakhang, a temple built by the great iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. Upon arrival in Paro, take a riverside walk along the Paro Chhu River, where you can enjoy peaceful surroundings and the sight of local farmers working in the fields. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.

Start the day with a hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang, 3,120m), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, perched dramatically on a cliffside. The trek offers breathtaking views of the Paro Valley, with a stop at a teahouse along the way. Learn about the legend of Guru Rinpoche, who meditated here in the 8th century. After descending, relax with an optional traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath.
