Visit Buddha Dordenma, a towering golden statue overlooking the valley, and explore the vibrant Thimphu Craft Bazaar.
Overnight in Thimphu.

Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s golden autumn landscape, where trees turn vibrant shades of yellow and orange. Visit Tashichho Dzong, a fortress blending spirituality and governance. Walk through the National Memorial Chorten, a spiritual site where locals gather for daily prayers. Take a short nature walk in Jigme Dorji National Park, where autumn foliage creates a breathtaking backdrop.
Overnight in Thimphu.

Drive to Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass (3,100m) to admire the Himalayan peaks framed by rhododendron forests or snow-covered trees in winter. In Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong, an architectural masterpiece at the confluence of two rivers. Take a peaceful walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge, surrounded by lush green fields in summer or golden rice paddies in autumn.
Overnight in Punakha.

Depart for Bumthang, Bhutan’s cultural heartland, driving through lush monsoon forests and high-altitude mountain passes. Stop in Trongsa to explore the historic Trongsa Dzong, a fortress with stunning valley views. Continue to Bumthang, where spring transforms the valley into a colorful paradise of rhododendrons and apple blossoms.

Spend the day enjoying Bumthang’s spring scenery, with flowering apple orchards and fields of wildflowers. Visit Jakar Dzong, a fortress with panoramic views of the valley. Explore Kurjey Lhakhang, a sacred monastery where Guru Rinpoche meditated. Take a peaceful nature walk along the Chamkhar Chhu River, surrounded by lush meadows and blooming trees.
Overnight in Bumthang.

Drive through the remote and untouched landscapes of Eastern Bhutan, crossing Thrumshingla Pass (3,780m), which offers breathtaking views of misty valleys and towering peaks. Stop along the way to admire monsoon-fed waterfalls and rolling green hills before reaching Mongar, known for its mist-covered forests and fresh mountain air.
Overnight in Mongar.

The valley transforms into a peaceful white wonderland, with snow-draped trees and traditional Bhutanese houses covered in frost. Explore Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple), set against a backdrop of serene snow-covered mountains.
